Assistant Curator of Education

Sheldon Museum of Art’s assistant curator of education collaborates with other education department staff to develop innovative pedagogical and philosophical approaches to using original works of art to teach diverse audiences.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching, preparing multimodal curriculum and learning activities, supporting outreach and student engagement, collecting data, and supporting general administration of the education department. The assistant curator of education manages Sheldon’s K–12 education and outreach programs, coordinates the long-standing Lincoln Public Schools LPS/volunteer docent programs, inclusive of recruitment, training, evaluation, and serves as a liaison with LPS stakeholders. Reporting to the curator of academic programs, this position also supports all facets of Sheldon’s education initiatives in accordance with the museum’s mission. Some evening and weekend hours are required.
