Admission is free.

Museum Hours

Tuesday–Wednesday 10am to 5pm
Thursday 10am to 7pm
Friday–Saturday 10am to 5pm
Sunday Noon to 5pm
Monday Closed

Sheldon is open until 7pm the first Friday of the month.

Sheldon will be closed May 11 in preparation for the Sheldon Art Association Gala, an event that provides financial support to the museum. The 2024 gala supports the museum’s new hours, which make Sheldon accessible free of charge an additional twelve hours each week and include Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.


Parking and Accessibility
  • On-street, metered parking is available during the day in most of downtown Lincoln. Look for spaces near Sheldon on 12th and R Streets.

  • A limited number of free parking spaces are available in a lot on the north side of the building. When using this lot, be sure to ask a Sheldon visitor services representative for a parking pass to place on your dashboard. Written directions to this lot can be found here.

  • Bicycle parking is available near Louis Pound Hall, across the sidewalk on the east side of Sheldon.

There is barrier-free ramp access to the museum from the parking lot on the north side of the building. A wheelchair is available free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tours and Group Visits

Tours of Sheldon Museum of Art and its outdoor sculptures are free and may be tailored to visitors’ interests. Generally, tours must be requested at least two weeks in advance.
